The opening of WandaVision mocks the classic Marvel comic, played by Jessica Jones

After spending a year and a half out of focus, Marvel Studios returned on Friday with a bang, as the studio finally released the first two episodes of WandaVision to the masses. In the blink of an eye, the series became the topic of social media as fans joined in the speech, discussing the various mysteries the series opened. Luckily for fans, the series is also full of Easter eggs; there’s the head shot of the Grim Reaper in a single shot, or the fact that one of the photographs behind the scenes shows a Wonder Home reference plan. Now, fans have seen an Easter egg one of the oldest characters in Marvel, which even managed to appear Jessica Jones at one point.

Light spoilers in advance for the first two episodes of WandaVision. Be careful if you haven’t seen the show yet.

Just as Kevin Feige and his team have mocked, WandaVision it’s very much a homage to the comedies of history before, paying homage to mid-century shows I Love Lucy, The Dick Van Dyke Show, i Haunted. In fact, he’s a nod to one of those shows where you can find an Easter egg from The Whizzer. In the first titles of “Episode 2”, which are modeled after the introduction of Haunted, fans have noticed that a small statue of Whizzer can be seen on a final table near the couch where Wanda and Vision are sitting.

At one point in the Marvel tradition, Robert Frank, the original Whizzer, was portrayed as the father of Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. Soon enough, though, like many other comic book origins, it reconnected and changed, but some of the Marvel studios haven’t forgotten it.

A version of the character also appeared in the second season of Jessica Jones, played by Jay Klaitz. In the series, Jones assumed that Robert Coleman was a paranoid madman when, in fact, he had been experienced by IGH. Those experiments gave him fantastic speed, something Jones soon learned.

The first two episodes of WandaVision are now airing on Disney + during the three seasons of Jessica Jones can be added to Netflix.
