GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) – The owner of a high-performance sports car said it was, unfortunately, his “last hurricane” that turned the vehicle around on a Pitt County highway.
Rescue crews were called to Highway 11 and Staton Mill Road shortly before 2:00 p.m. Monday to find a 2020 Corvette Stingray next to them.
Spencer Everette of Greenville told WITN he went out on Highway 11 “and shot her.” The man lost control of the expensive sports car, veered off the road and entered a ditch.
Everette was not injured and a trailer overturned the vehicle.
He told us he would sell the car tomorrow and that was his “last hurray”.
The Highway Patrol is charging Everette with reckless driving.
