The Philadelphia 76ers-Oklahoma City Thunder game on Sunday night was postponed

The Philadelphia 76ers-Oklahoma City Thunder game Sunday night has been postponed due to follow-up contacts within the Sixers, the NBA announced.

The game was postponed according to league safety and health guidelines, as the 76ers did not meet the minimum requirements on the eight-player roster.

Contact tracking is related to Saturday’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Grizzlies included Jonas Valanciunas as out of Monday’s game against the Phoenix Suns as the center has entered league safety and health protocols. The Grizzlies played the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday before their game was postponed to Friday due to follow-up contacts within the Wolves. Karl-Anthony Towns announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

The Sixers have been battling a postponement for more than a week after guard Seth Curry tested positive for COVID-19 on Jan. 7. On January 9, they played with only eight players against the Nuggets.

They used just nine players in Saturday’s loss and had six on their injury report. Two were out of safety and health protocols (Curry and Vincent Poirier) with Joel Embiid (knee), Furkan Korkmaz (groin) and Mike Scott (knee) sitting injured. That would leave out six more players on Sunday due to contact tracking.

The Sixers are scheduled to host the Boston Celtics Wednesday night.
