The Philadelphia Eagles will attend Trevor Lawrence’s Pro Day

Crazy things happen during the NFL draft, and while Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence is expected to go No. 1 in Jacksonville, the Eagles do their due diligence on the All-American.

Sports Illustrated reports that only seven teams will attend the upcoming Lawrence Pro Day practice on Friday, and the Eagles will be one of them in addition to the Jaguars, Jets, Dolphins, Falcons, Broncos and Panthers.

The planned No. 1 pick will work with a 50-pitch script that will show off your ability to play under the center and out of the game, and will highlight your pocket movement and your competitive throwing move, from screen passes to deep shots. Lawrence hasn’t had the pre-quarterbacks most quarterbacks do before a professional day, due to the schedule of all this, but he and Lawrence got two weeks of work in Orange County and had a dry career on Wednesday in South Carolina.

And while the Jaguars are probably the only team to attend – I’ve been told that the new Jacksonville coach, Urban Meyer, has the credentials for the event and is expected to be there. at least seven of the teams they select from the top 10 are scheduled to appear. The Jets, Dolphins, Falcons, Eagles, Broncos and Panthers will also have scouts on the ground. One of those teams told me they felt they had to be there, just to have a chance to see Lawrence throw it and value it, just in case. (Yes, I know.)

No doubt the 32 NFL teams will be intrigued, and with various television news media or live streaming of training, staff will have their eyes set on the quarterback, once in a generation.

The Eagles who send training staff in person to Clemson would show that they are planning to take the quarterback to No. 6 overall and, if they do a job close to Lawrence, we can expect that they will also attend Justin Fields at Ohio State or Zach Wilson at BYU .
