In a statement today on Twitter, Versus Evil, the publisher of the Pillars of Eternity Switch port, stated that the game would not receive any more patches, as “they have reached the limit of what we can do with our updates.”
“[We] we have exhausted the options we have left of the original computer in terms of the limitations of the hardware we are working with, “Versus Evil said in the statement, referring to the Nintendo Switch. As some people have pointed out, the Divinity similar Sin 2 works well on the console, so presumably there’s something going on with the Pillars port we don’t know about.
Apparently, the game will be left in the state it is currently in, although it includes many bugs, “such as the Ranger pet not appearing,” the editor acknowledges. The game is still at full price in the eShop, despite having a 75% discount on Steam, and Versus Evil did not offer refunds, although the game has been released on Switch since 2019.
