The Powerball prize grows to $ 730 million; Mega Millions will cost $ 850 million

DES MOINES, Iowa – Lottery players have another chance to win big next week, as there were no top prize winners for the Powerball and Mega Millions prizes in their most recent drawings.

The Powerball prize pool rose to an estimated $ 730 million after no one matched the five numbers and the red ball of the draw on Saturday night. If a lottery player wins the next Powerball draw on Wednesday, it would be the fifth largest prize in the United States.

The winning numbers were 67, 20, 65, 14, 39 and the Powerball was 02.

No one surpassed the odds of Friday’s Mega Millions draw, so the biggest prize reached $ 850 million. This would be the third biggest prize in history if there was a winner of the top prize in the draw on Tuesday.

It’s been almost two years since a lottery prize has become so big. No one has won the top prize in either game in months.

The amounts of the said prize refer to the winners who opt for an annuity, paid for 30 years. Winners almost always choose cash prizes, which for Powerball would be $ 546 million. The estimated cash prize for the next Mega Millions award is $ 628.2 million.

Mega Millions and Powerball are played in 45 states, as well as in Washington, DC and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball is also offered in Puerto Rico.
