The producer of the new series of creators of “Game of Thrones” dies poisoned

Lin Qi, president and CEO of Yoozoo Group and producer of The Three-Body Problems series, has died at the age of 39 after being poisoned by a co-worker who is currently in police custody in Shanghai.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the poisoning was preceded by a dispute within the ranks of the Chinese entertainment company. Lin was poisoned with a cup of tea on December 16 and died on Christmas Day.

A statement from the Shanghai Public Security Bureau stated that Lin had been hospitalized on December 17 and the center determined that he had been poisoned. “According to investigations at the site and subsequent interviews, police found that a suspect named Xu, who is the victim’s co-worker, was the most likely perpetrator,” the statement read. “The suspect has been arrested and investigations are continuing,” the writ adds.

Lin founded Yoozoo Group in 2009 and was the producer of the Netflix series The Problem of the Three Bodies, a new project by the creators of Game of Thrones, DB Weiss and Dave Benioff. This will be the first work of both after the outcome of the HBO series. Fiction is based on the saga of novels written by Lin Cixin. The trilogy began in 2008 with The Problem of the Three Bodies and later went on sale The Dark Forest (2008) and The End of Death (2010).
