Back the launch is now driven by just over a month, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today.
Developed by Housemarque, Return it was initially scheduled to be published on March 19th. Today’s delay moves fall through April 30 to “give the team more time to continue polishing the game to the level of quality players expect from Housemarque,” according to SIE.
It doesn’t just do that Return it looks amazing (expected, coming from the study that made 2013 extremely polished and well considered Resume), is also one of the only PlayStation 5 exclusives on the horizon. Most next generation games are now available and will be available between generations. Next to The Middle“It premiered yesterday for the Xbox X and S series.”Return it offers one of the first opportunities to see what a next-generation game can do when it doesn’t keep in touch with state-of-the-art technology.
Earlier this month, video games based on the Harry Potter i lord of the Rings the universes were delayed until 2022. The third-person shooter Outriders was delayed from a wide-ranging release from February through April 1, though a free demo will be available on February 25th. Ubisoft’s Steep-I like Riders Republic was pushed from a February release to an unspecified date later this year. And last fall, Ubisoft delayed Far Cry 6 i Quarantine Rainbow Six, both were initially scheduled to launch before March 31st. All-Stars Destruction, was a planned release title for PS5 pushed outside 2020. This will start working next month, which joins the February “free” PS Plus games for the PS5.
We’ve seen what happens when high-profile video games don’t stay in the oven long enough. Last year, CD Projekt Red was as expected Cyberpunk 2077 was delayed (three times!) and is still published with numerous bugs, glitches, and performance issues on the latest generation consoles. Return it’s not married to state-of-the-art technology, but still. Take all the time you need, Housemarque. We’ll play it when you think it’s okay and ready.
