A new PS5 replacement report states that PlayStation gamers who were still looking for the next-generation console will still be able to get one before 2021, courtesy of Target. Over the past two days, PS5 replacements have been non-existent. From Amazon, to Walmart, to Best Buy, to GameStop, no one has had a PS5 this week. However, it looks like Target is about to push for another round of stocks just before the end of 2020, or at least that’s what a new report claims.
According to the report, which comes in the manner of the Spiel Times, Target stores across the country have begun receiving 10-15 console units, while other stores expect new stocks to arrive this Sunday, December 27th.
At this time, it is not known exactly when these replacements will be released and it is unclear whether it will be nationwide. However, if some stores don’t receive their replenishment by the end of the weekend, it probably means the replenishment won’t occur until next week, probably Monday or Tuesday.
While stores will apparently get PS5 shares this weekend, you still won’t be able to buy them in-store. The only way to insure any of these actions will be through online shopping. If you can secure a console this way, you can pick it up at the store or send it home.
As Spiel Times points out, target replacements usually happen between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. EST, and like any other online reseller, each repository often presents website issues and attracts many robots to compete.
As for the report, take it with a grain of salt. Although it mentions several sources, Target has not announced anything yet. And of course, even if it gets into stock this weekend, it doesn’t mean it will be sold before the end of the year.
