Jake Angeli, who was photographed Wednesday shirtless inside the Senate chamber, wearing a horn hat with his face painted, was arrested Saturday, according to the Justice Department.
“Jacob Anthony Chansley, also known as Jake Angeli, of Arizona, was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or land without lawful authority, and of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds,” he said. the Department of Justice in a statement.
“It is alleged that Chansley was identified as the man seen in the media coverage who entered the Capitol building wearing horns, a bear skin headdress, red, white and blue face painting, shirtless and brown pants, ”he said. “This individual was carrying a spear, about 6 feet long, with an American flag tied just below the leaf.”

Angeli has appeared in multiple pro-Trump protests in Pheonix, Arizona, and is widely known as the “QAnon Shaman, “according to CBS affiliate KPHO. He has also appeared at Arizona rallies to protest the shutdown of companies due to COVID-19, according to the Republic of Arizona.
In a previous interview with the Republic, Angeli said she used her hat and painted face to get attention so she could better share her beliefs about QAnon.
“The snowball has been rolling and just getting bigger,” Angeli said at a rally in February 2020, according to the newspaper. “We are now the mainstream.”
Angeli is one of many pro-Trump riot police who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, forcing lawmakers to evacuate during the Electoral College vote count. The vast majority of riot police were able to leave without being arrested, forcing the FBI to launch a manhunt across the country for those involved in the assault.
Many have already been identified from photographs or videos taken during the siege, which led to a number of arrests and even shootings.
