The Nevada Republican Central Committee voted Saturday to censure Nevada Republican Party Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske for claims she could not prevent widespread voter fraud in the state during the 2020 presidential election.
The Independent of Nevada reported that the committee voted 126-112 to censure Cegavske for claims he failed to “question the reliability of our Nevada election.”
According to a cover letter obtained by the media, censorship prohibits Cegavske from receiving party support and resources, and the committee cites “the intense disgrace his failures caused the Nevada Republican Party.”
The party claims to have provided four boxes of evidence that allegedly showed tens of thousands of examples of electoral fraud in the 2020 elections.
“The irresponsible message from the Nevada Secretary of State, which stated, without investigation, that these elections were flawless, provoking these attacks on our Nevada Republican party,” the cover letter says.

Nevada also voted for Democratic candidates in the 2016 and 2012 presidential elections.
Cegavske backed down the premise of party censorship in a statement to the Independent on Sunday.
“Unfortunately, members of my own political party have decided to censor me simply because they are disappointed with the outcome of the 2020 elections,” Cegavske said. “My job is to perform the duties of my office under Nevada law, not bring water to the state Republican Party or put my thumb on the scale of democracy. Unfortunately, members of my own party continue believing the 2020 general election was worked with fraud – and that it somehow had a part in it – despite the total lack of evidence to support this belief. “
“Regardless of the censorship vote made today by the Central Committee of the Nevada Republican Party, I will continue my efforts to oversee the safe elections in Nevada and restore confidence in our election, confidence that has been destroyed by those who falsely claimed the 2020 general elections that have generated widespread fraud fraud, ”he added.
The Nevada Supreme Court voted unanimously to approve Biden’s victory there in late November under state law after meeting with Cegavske.
