But Mario remains at number 1 per 1,000 units
The rise in PlayStation 5 shares this week has had a huge impact on the sales of its video games.
The greatest is Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The most popular PS5 game increased 172% in weekly physical box sales, going from number 7 to number 2. The game was only lost in first place by just 1,000 units.
The other big PS5 exclusive on the charts is Demon’s Souls, at number 21. Last week, the game wasn’t in the Top 40 of the box, but it’s back thanks to a 123% increase in sales.
Overall, sales of PS5 boxing games have increased by 64% over the previous week.
At number 1 is the Nintendo Switch Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury game, which reaches its third consecutive number 1 despite a 38% drop in sales during the week.
This week there were a couple of little news. Persona 5 Strikers from Atlus debuts at number 5 on Switch and PS4 (PS4 accounts for 72% of sales). Meanwhile, Square Enix’s Bravely Default 2 on Nintendo Switch is number 11
The latest big performer this week is The Last of Us: Part 2. The PS4 game returns to the charts at number 3 after a 3992% increase in sales due to a price discount that meant that the horror game would go down to less than GBP 20 retailers.
