A second woman has accused Governor Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment, according to a new report.
Charlotte Bennett, a 25-year-old former Cuomo aide, told the New York Times the governor was asking her inappropriate personal questions and had told her she was open to relationships with women in their twenties.
Cuomo issued a statement Saturday night saying, “Ms. Bennett was a hardworking and valuable member of our team during COVID. She has every right to speak out.”
“When she came to me and opened up about surviving a sexual assault and how she shaped it and her ongoing efforts to create an organization that would give her voice to help other survivors, I tried to be supportive and helpful. Mrs. Bennett’s first impression was correct: I was trying to be her mentor, I never advanced toward Mrs. Bennett, nor did I intend to act in any way that was inappropriate. -feeling any of the things that are being reported, “he said.
