The second report says that iOS 15 will no longer be compatible with the iPhone 6s, the original iPhone SE, and so on.

Today, a new iPhoneSoft report claims to have details on which devices Apple plans to stop attending with iOS 15. It should be noted that the information is combined with a preview report we saw late last year that suggests the ‘Original iPhone 6s iPhone 6s Plus SE will be in the cutting block.

The French publication iPhoneSoft says that the information comes from Apple (via Apple Translate):

Below is a first list of Apple devices that will host iOS 15 beta next June.

At the moment, it seems that Apple plans to set aside support for iPhone with A9 and earlier chips. While this may not seem like a big deal to many, the iPhone 6s has continued to be very popular in the resale markets.

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were originally launched in September 2015, with the landing of the iPhone SE in March 2016. These devices have been very popular and have received software updates from Apple for four years.

Not compatible with iOS 15:

  • iPhone 6s and 6s Plus
