The shot that thwarted Daddy Yankee’s dream

SANT JOAN, PORT RICO.- You would imagine a Daddy Yankee doing something other than singing reggaeton? The reality is that this was not the true dream that the famous Puerto Rican wanted for his life.

Although he was always involved in music and his father was a salsa percussionist, being a well-known singer was not his true dream. “The Crab” wanted to become a famous baseball player.

Ramón Ayala Rodríguez he dreamed of reaching the big leagues and in fact is said to have the talent to achieve it, but being on time and the wrong place truncated his dreams.

For years, Yankee lived in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the world San Juan, Puerto Rico, but unlike other of his friends, he managed to get out of crime thanks to his taste for music and sports.

According to the same reggaeton player during an interview, a stray bullet pierced his leg and affected his hip when a hitman confused him with another person. Yankee confessed that the only one who helped him was a drug addict.

The bullet he received from one SI 47 it damaged his leg so much that he could no longer take the bat and the ball back to become a famous baseball player.

In the end this episode marked his life and led him to see music as a resource to move forward.

Yankee began his musical career selling his songs on the street, but thanks to his perseverance he is now one of the most successful figures in the urban genre.
