According to a new study, a smart ring that constantly monitors the wearer’s temperature will detect the Govit-19.
0 270 Data collected from those who wore the Ora ring accurately identified when the wearer was infected with the corona virus, even in cases where no infection was suspected.
Researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, and San Diego reported more than three-quarters of participants with subtle symptoms, and then tested positive for Covit-19.
“It is hoped that people with goiter will be able to prepare and isolate themselves as soon as possible, call their doctor as soon as possible and notify any person they come in contact with as soon as possible,” said primary investigator Ashley Mason.
The Finnish startup Ora donated 3,400 smart rings, with researchers focusing on temperature data from 50 of the participants who eventually tested positive.
Research, published in the journal Scientific reports On Monday, the first part of an extensive observational study that attracted biometric data from more than 65,000 Ora wearers worldwide, they volunteered to participate through the ring’s ancillary use.
About 10 to 70 percent of people who take Covit-19 are asymptomatic for the first few days after infection, meaning they are not feeling well.
It is during this time that people are most likely to become infected, even if they do not show any external symptoms such as cough or fever. This has allowed the deadly virus to spread at an alarming rate, with more than 70 million confirmed cases worldwide.
By detecting these early symptoms before they manifest in the most obvious way, ring makers claim that it can help prevent the spread of the virus.
“If they get a text early they can isolate it – which can effectively stop the spread.”
Researchers hope to develop a warning system that triggers a request for a user to complete the self-collection Covid-19 test when it shows early warning signs.
Ora teamed up with the NBA and UFC earlier this year to help both game owners detect the early occurrences of Covit-19 within the isolated bubbles they created.
All 65 UFC fighters who received the ring agreed to one, which allows trainers to monitor other measurements such as sleep quality, alertness, heart and respiration rates.
Heavyweight fighter Daniel Gormier said in August that data from the ring he wore tested negative two days ago but that he may have caught the Covid-19. When he took the information to his doctor, they reviewed him and it came back positive.
