The soprano singer Violeta Dávalos Lara died last Thursday at the age of 52, the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (Inbal) and the Ministry of Culture reported.

The singer studied singing at the National School of Music of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). His professional debut was at the age of 19 starring in the opera ‘Aïda’, directed by Giuseppe Raffa.
During her career, Violeta Dávalos worked with artists such as Joan Pons, Aquiles Machado and Rolando Villazón. In addition, she starred in operas such as ‘Tosca’ and ‘Madama Butterfly’.
The Grand Prize of the first Iberoamerican Singing Competition 2001 and the National Singing Competition ‘Carlo Morelli’ are some of the awards that Dávalos obtained in its successful race.
