The Stardew Valley version 1.5 update for Nintendo Switch is now available

Stardew Valley 1.5 Update

The big time has finally come for successful console gamers Stardew Valley. Creator, ConcernedApe, has finally released the long-awaited version 1.5 update.

“Stardew Valley 1.5 update for Switch, Xbox and PlayStation has come out”

If you haven’t been up to date on our Stardew Valley coverage, version 1.5 contains a new beach farm, advanced gaming options and more. You can see the full change log in our previous post, but be warned: it may contain spoilers.

We also have a summary of what to expect without spoiler (notes based on the PC patch). ConcernedApe previously said that version 1.5 was “by far the largest solid piece of new content that has been added to the game since the release.”

New game options

If you are considering starting a new save file for this update, there are some options for creating new characters:

Stardew Valley
  1. There is a new farm called “Beach Farm“. It is large, with good fishing and food opportunities and the possibility of rare supply boxes being washed ashore. But there is a catch … most of the farm is covered with sandy soil which prevents the use of sprinklers (they are covered with sand). If this is your first time playing in Stardew Valley, I recommend trying one of the other farms for a more classic experience, but if you play again for another chance, Beach Farm can make your experience a little fresher ( it also looks unique).
  2. There is a new “Advanced game options“At the bottom left of the character creation menu.” From here, you can select various options to customize your playback. For returning players, I’d recommend trying the “remixed” Community Center packages, which randomize the packages you’ll get, adding new ones and variations of the originals. Remixing mine rewards can also make you stagger … this adds a random variety to what you can get out of the mine chests.
  3. Be sure to check the file new hairstyles at the end of the hair list.

Split Screen Cooperative (Local)

To play on split screen, create a booth (by Robin) for up to 3 more players to join (if you are starting a new game, you can also select that the booths are already placed at the beginning in the menu advanced game options). Once there are booths, open the game menu, scroll down to multiplayer, and select “Start local co-op.” Other players can now join by pressing Start on a controller connected to the PC. See the game menu options tab to adjust the zoom level and zoom level of the UI to a setting that works well for you. Otherwise, the split screen works exactly the same as online multiplayer.
