The Capitol Assault came after President Trump, at a rally across Pennsylvania Avenue, urged his supporters to go to Congress to demand that federal lawmakers reverse the outcome of the November 3 elections.
Five people, including a federal Capitol police officer, died in these incidents that endangered the lives of Vice President Pence and members of Congress, caused damage and delayed for hours the constitutional obligation to count the votes of the American Electoral College.
Alongside the resolution to propose the removal of Trump, Democrats in the federal lower house introduced another measure to demand that Pence convene the cabinet and declare the president of the United States disqualified from governing.
The lower house will vote tomorrow on the resolution calling for action in Pence. If nothing happens in 24 hours, the majority of the lower house will approve on Wednesday the dismissal charge against Trump.
It would be the first time in history that the House of Representatives has approved twice recommending the removal of the same president.
