The Crackle broadcast service will premiere a five-part documentary series Play with Power: The Nintendo Story on March 1st.
According to Deadline, this series has been written and directed by Jeremy Snead and produced executive (and narrated, in fact) by Sean Astin (aka Samwise of The Lord of the Rings).
It tells the “extensive story” of the “secret” Japanese company and includes interviews with people like former Nintendo of America CEO Reggie Fils-Aimé, Xbox chief Phil Spencer, former Sega of America CEO Tom Kalinske, the Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell, NoA co-founder Ron Judy and more.
Snead has previously worked on several video game film and television projects and says producing and directing his latest series has been “a lifelong ambition” as an artist, player and filmmaker.
Astin adds: he points out how he believes this five-part journey “will open up the world of video games and this legendary venture in a way most people had never seen.”
All episodes of Play with Power: The Nintendo Story will be available on Crackle early next month. Will you be watching? Leave a comment below.
