“The brighter the sun, the darker the shadows.” With that phrase, Netflix announced the second season of the biographical series “Luis Miguel” that tonight will finally premiere its first episode, with the great return of Diego Boneta as the protagonist of the story.
Luxuries, women, betrayals, intrigues, abuses, tragedies and more have been part of the mysterious and enigmatic life of the singer known as “The Sun”.
Born in Puerto Rico, but adopted by Mexico, Luis Miguel has become one of the most influential Spanish-speaking singers in the history of music.
In the first season, we learned more about Luis Miguel’s hard childhood, his rise to fame, the disappearance of his mother, his first loves and finally the death of his father, Luis Rey.
Tonight, the story will continue, and then we’ll tell you what to expect for the second part of “Luis Miguel: The Series”.
TWO TIMES
Like its first season, the new chapters will tell the story of Luis Miguel in two timelines.
In the promotional video for the second season, two songs are heard: “How is it possible to be by my side,” which premiered in 1998; and “Mexico in your skin”, released in 2008.
This means that, in one of the timelines, Luis Miguel will be 28 years old, and in the second, 35 years old.
WHERE IS MARCELA Basteri?
Undoubtedly, one of the great mysteries of the series is the whereabouts of Luis Miguel’s mother, who suddenly disappeared during his childhood. As the second season progressed, it became clear that the mystery could finally be solved.
“I know you know where my mother is! Where is my mother?” Luis Miguel yells “Tito” (played by Martín Bell).
The unknown about the whereabouts of Luis Miguel’s mother reached such a point, that it was thought that a destitute woman in Argentina could be Marcela Basteri, however, the information was denied.
MICHELLE SALES ASKS HER FATHER
Luis Miguel’s eldest daughter will be played by Macarena Achaga, and will star in a shocking scene with her father. In the trailer shown by Netflix, he sees Stephanie Sales’ daughter in an act with the singer, and questions why he waited so many years to meet her.

It should be remembered that, in real life, Luis Miguel recognized Michelle Sales as his daughter in 2007, when she was 20 years old.
Little Valery Sais will play Michelle in her children’s version, at the age of 11.
HUGO LÓPEZ’S CANCER
As it was seen in the first season, “Hugo”, incarnated by Caesar Bordón, became the representative of Luis Miguel, as well as a paternal figure for him. However, in this new season he will be seen fighting cancer, at the same time as a new representative named Patricio Robles (Pablo Cruz Guerrero) will come into their lives.
HIS ROMANCE WITH ALICIA MACHADO
In March, Alicia Machado confirmed that she had reached an agreement for her name to appear on the series, and thus set out some details of the idyll she had with the singer in 1996.
The Venezuelan assured that she will appear as the Miss Universe “who walked around with him”, and also has no problem with her story being addressed, as she plans to tell her version soon in an autobiographical book.
JU PROU LUISITO REI?
The first season of “Luis Miguel” culminated in the death of Luisito Rey, a character who earned the hatred of fans of the singer for the way he exploited and abused him since his career .
The personage incarnated by Oscar Jaenada no longer would appear in the future events of the series; but the possibility was shuffled that if it returns by flashbacks and memories of the singer.
However, the actor himself would have confirmed last year that he was not called for this second part, so it is possible that the audience will no longer see it in history.
They will release the SONGS SUNG BY DIEGO BONETA
Netflix announced on social media that every Wednesday, the songs of Luis Miguel who will play the protagonist of his series will be available on digital music platforms.
Some songs he’s already sung on the show are “Guilty or Not,” “The Unconditional,” “Below the Table,” “I Have Everything Except You,” and more.
MAURICI Ambrosi, ONE OF HIS BEST FRIENDS
One of the biggest pillars for Luis Miguel in his most difficult moments was Maurici Ambrosi, who will make his appearance in this new season.
Played by Fernando Guallar, Maurici will play a special role in the art company Aries, where he also acted, in a way, as his manager and unconditional support.
THE FIGHT WITH THE DONKEY VAN RANKIN
Actor Juan Ignacio Cane will arrive in Luis Miguel’s series as “José Pérez”, one of his assistants, who would be the key for the artist to distance himself definitively from the Donkey Van Rankin, when he was at the top of the success.
HIS ROMANCE WITH MARIAH CAREY
Undoubtedly, one of Luis Miguel’s greatest loves was Mariah Carey, who will be represented by Jade Ewen, to tell his intense love story and his media breakup. Although this information was not confirmed by Netflix, journalist Michelle Rubalcava was the one who broke the news.
Aracely Arámbula WILL NOT BE IN THE SERIES
Through a statement on social media, the actress confirmed that she did not give Netflix permission to use her name in her ex-partner’s biographical series.
Aracely is remembered like one of the great loves of Luis Miguel, because besides being its more long-lived relation, also it procreated with her to his smaller children, Miguel and Daniel Gallego Arámbula.
