The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected the last Republican demand to block the victory of President-elect Joe Biden in Pennsylvania, another blow to supporters of President Trump, who ran nationwide in the Nov. 3 election. The court, in a routine sentencing order, rejected the attempt by a Pennsylvania congressman and other Republicans who had been urging an urgent challenge to the postal system by state vote, which was passed by its legislature in 2019. “The application for injunction relief is presented to Judge Alito, who refuses to appear in court,” the order said. They lost almost everything. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court, which lost the case on Tuesday, dismissed the case in an Nov. 28 order after the plaintiffs “failed to act with due diligence” by filing a lawsuit after the election and after more than a year of universal suffrage. The state High Court said Republicans’ claims would “lead to the disenfranchisement of millions of Pennsylvania voters.” Mr Biden defeated Pennsylvania by a margin of more than 81,000 votes. The U.S. Supreme Court order came Tuesday afternoon after receiving written legal arguments from the parties. The order also comes on the day states have to set up their voters to ensure that they are counted when the Electoral College, a delegation that meets after the election to elect the president based on the state vote results, casts their ballots in December. 14.
