JERSEY CITY, NJ: The final round of the Northern Trust tournament is postponed until Monday due to the threat of Hurricane Henri.

The PGA Tour announced Saturday afternoon that there would be no golf Sunday at Liberty National, the venue for the first FedEx Cup playoff event. Damage to the golf course will be assessed on Sunday, and departure times for the final round will be announced in the afternoon.

“Based on the projected path of Tropical Storm Henri and the tropical storm warning issued by the National Hurricane Center for the area where the Northern Trust is located, there will be no game on Sunday,” the tour said. in a statement.

The National Hurricane Center issued a piece of advice Saturday morning to update Henri from a tropical storm to a hurricane.

The PGA Tour will make every attempt to play the 72 holes, including the chance to finish the event on Tuesday if necessary. The next playoff event, the BMW Championship, begins Thursday against Baltimore.

Although the tour didn’t say so, it’s likely that in the final round you will see the missing triples from both the first and 10th to complete the game sooner. The tour said departure times would not begin before 7:30 am ET.
