In the final allegations of the opinion, prosecutors stated that Geovanny Fonts “killed those who could and bought those who could not.”
the prosecutor Michael Lockard stated that Ramirez met twice with Juan Hernandez in 2019 and “paid him bribes at both meetings.”
“Joan Orlando Hernández not only wanted the defendant’s cash (in bribes), he wanted access to the defendant’s cocaine (…) in order to be able to export it” to United States through Port Cortés, the largest Honduran port, near the laboratory of cocaine installed in Cerro Negro, Lockard said in his closing allegation of the Sources trial.
“Access to the defendant’s lab could be worth millions, and the protection of Joan Orlando Hernandez was priceless for the defendant,” he added.
He claimed that the president gave Fonts the contact of his brother Tony Hernandez. “Tony Hernandez, com Juan Orlando Hernández, Was one of the defendant’s partners in drug trafficking. He is the man who ran the drug trafficking for Juan Orlando, who accepted bribes from the Los Cachiros drug money, he is the man who sent kilos of cocaine with his initials, “Lockard said.
He recalled that in the police operation in 2011 no drugs were found, he said the defendant was alerted to the flattening, that bribes were paid to a corrupt senior judicial official, Julius Caesar Barahona, and that later Sources kidnapped , tortured and murdered along with his partner Melvin Metro Sandres the policeman who directed him. “The laboratory did not close because the defendant reached an agreement with Juan Orlando Hernández and his brother (…) to keep working, ”Lockard said.
President Hernandez has denied all prosecutors’ allegations.
