The Trump administration declassifies unconfirmed intelligence on China’s rewards for US forces in Afghanistan: report

The Trump administration declassifies unconfirmed intelligence indicating that China paid non-state agents in Afghanistan to attack U.S. soldiers, Axios reported Wednesday.

This was said by two senior administration officials Axios with which intelligence was included President TrumpDonald Trump: Georgia’s signature audit detects no fraud in presidential election Pompeo calls for release of Chinese journalist jailed for coronavirus coverageDecember 17 information. Administration officials from various agencies are trying to corroborate the information. If the information is true, it could drastically change China’s relationship with the US and increase tensions between the two superpowers.

Officials who spoke with Axios did not say where the information came from or what period of time it covered.

Axios noted that China has remained mainly outside Afghanistan while talking to Taliban officials about peace agreements. However, weapons and Chinese-made financing have been intermittently directed at Afghanistan, the media reported.

Andrew Small, an expert on China-Afghanistan affairs, told Axios that these actions were not in line with typical Chinese policies, and noted that peace in Afghanistan is an area where states United States and China usually agree.

“They know the reduction is happening. We are not in the context where anything else has to happen to U.S. troops in Afghanistan. There is no reason to create additional pressure on U.S. forces.” said Small.

This report comes months after unconfirmed intellectual information claims that Russia had offered rewards to U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Trump was condemned by lawmakers for his apparent reluctance to recognize or confront Russia in reports.

According to Axios, it is unclear whether the president-elect Joe BidenJoe Biden: Georgia’s signature audit detects no fraud in the presidential election. Pence refused to sign to plan election cancellation, according to lawyers, an announcement from the New Lincoln Project shows a Trump border wall built from tombstones of victims of COVID-19 MORE or any member of Congress has been similarly informed of this information, although Biden has access to the President’s Daily Brief.

If intelligence finally cannot be corroborated, the decision to declassify it would be in doubt, Axios noted.
