The TSA hires 6,000 new airport security control agents

According to the statement, the TSA expects to occupy transportation security agent (TSO) positions at some 430 U.S. airports this summer.
“TSOs are a critical front-line defense to secure our nation’s commercial air transportation system,” said Melanie Harvey, acting deputy executive administrator of TSA’s security operations in the statement. “Every day, our officers analyze hundreds of thousands of airline passengers making sure they arrive at their destinations safely. We hope to regularly examine a higher number of passengers during the summer months and we will need additional officers to give support for our critical mission “.

The TSA said it held virtual job fairs and other recruitment events in cities across the country to fill full-time and part-time positions.
