MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – One person died after an accident that affected two vehicles in southwest Miami-Dade County and ended up with a car partially inside a popular restaurant.
It happened at about 7 a.m. Saturday.
A crashed Corvette was found next to Duffy’s tavern. It almost hit the owner, who was working inside at the time of the accident.
After hitting the building, the car burst into flames.
The owner of the restaurant rushed with a fire extinguisher in an attempt to extinguish the fire until the first lifeguards arrived.
Witnesses told Local 10 News that the Corvette was going fast and cut off a van, which ended up turning around next to it.
The driver of the van was not injured and told Local 10 News that he was trying to turn left when the Corvette hit him.
Authorities have not released any information about the victim who died.
