Some of the biggest football clubs in the world have collaborated with the very popular online game to get the new update
Football arrives at Fortnite with a new Epic Games update, which includes the Pele Cup and collaborations with some of the biggest clubs in the world.
The “Kickoff Set”, which will be launched on January 23, will include 23 club kits as playable skins, a new tournament with real and in-game prizes and the chance to “get excited” as the icon of Brazil Pele.
Twenty-three clubs from around the world, including Manchester City, Juventus, Inter, AC Milan, Santos, Los Angeles FC, Melbourne City, Celtic and the Rangers (full list below ) will have specially designed male and female costumes in the game.
Players can win the new kits at the Pele Cup on January 20, with a time-limited football game mode, and play with the new Creative Mode football island.
“Pele’s Air Punch,” a new emoticon based on the celebration of Brazil’s legend goal, will be available for purchase in the store or as a prize at the Pele Cup.
Tournament regional winners will receive a signed Santos T-shirt, while the top 3,500 players in each region will win Pele’s Air Punch emot and a selection of character costumes.
Nate Nanzer, world leader in Epic Games partnerships, explained the collaboration to ESPN: “Thinking about the evolution of Fortnite and all the different IP integrations we’ve done and incorporating all of these worlds into the game, I think we’ve done some pretty amazing work through movies and comics.
“Batman plays Deadpool and Wolverine and Iron Man. We brought together all these amazing worlds.
“But in sports, we’ve had an amazing partnership with the NFL, but we haven’t really done much beyond our NFL partnership. Over the last year, we’ve really focused on how we can grow our footprint more. in sports.
“We could definitely do things with future modern footballers and I think, since a lot of them are big Fortnite fans, we could do fun things in the future.”
