The United States will begin requiring people traveling from the United Kingdom to test negative for Covid-19 no more than 72 hours before departure, the CDC said in a statement Thursday at the end.
The statement said President Donald Trump will sign the order on Friday, Christmas Day. It will take effect on Monday.
Earlier this week, the UK said it had identified a new strain of Covid-19 that appears to be spreading faster. Dozens of countries quickly restricted travel from the UK to try to prevent tension from entering their own borders.
