Five years after her divorce, the Catholic Church granted the annulment of Gwen Stefani’s marriage to her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. This way, the 51-year-old singer now has a free way to form a new religious union with her current fiancĂ©, also musician Blake Shelton.
“Gwen was told the decision was made by the Vatican court,” US Weekly confirmed. “You will receive written notification in the coming weeks, but it is already official.” Stefani’s wedding to Shelton, whom he met as a juror for the reality show The Voice, is activated in this way thanks to the expected resolution.
The same source also points out that this step is a great relief for the singer, who in March 2019 he began the formal process to annul his first marriage in order to marry his current partner, Contemplating that the church may recognize the new bond as valid.
Stefani and Shelton met in 2015 and announced engagement last October. The couple is scheduled to get married “probably early next year.” Shelton has even enabled a lucky da cappella on the grounds of his Oklahoma ranch to hold the ceremony in this space.
Meanwhile, former No Doubt and Bush vocalist, who were married from 2002 to 2016, share the paternity of their three children: Kingston, Apollo Bowie Flynn and Zuma Nesta Rock.
