ORLANDO, Fla. – An SUV veered off Interstate 4 and landed on the roof of Kaley Street, prompting police to close the interstate near downtown Orlando.

The crash was reported around 6 a.m. Monday on I-4 East, which closed on Kaley Street. Two lanes were reopened about 30 minutes later and all lanes were reopened eastbound before 8:30 p.m.
Around 12:30 p.m., repairs were completed and all lanes were reopened.

Orlando police said one person suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital as a trauma alert patient. Another victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
“It looks like the vehicle has veered off I-4, crashing into Kaley,” said former Traffic Safety expert Steve News.
Wesley Cole witnessed the crash at a nearby gas station and rushed to help.
“The sparks flew about 20 meters into the air. This is the first thing I saw. You can really see the Jeep on the railing and you knew it was coming, ”Cole said. “He hit the pylon and turned back, that’s when he kicked the driver out. It’s the craziest I’ve ever seen, but I’m sure someone was waiting for him.”
No other details about the accident have been released.
