The Weeknd stays in style in Tampa this week as it prepares for Sunday in the middle of the 2021 Super Bowl.
We hear singer “Blinding Lights” dropped $ 100,000 to stay in a $ 9.1 million six-bedroom mansion on nearby Davis Island. The area of 6,000 square meters has a swimming pool, views of the bay and a private pier.
While Super Bowl producers cover all of the show’s usual production costs, the 30-year-old singer, real name Abel Tesfaye, is injecting big money to make sure he’s made his way.
“Abel spent nearly $ 7 million of his own money beyond the already generous budgets to make this half-day program what he envisioned,” his publicist told The Post.
On Monday, the singer partnered with Postmates to feed front-line health workers at AdventHealth Carrollwood with food from Tampa’s black-owned restaurant, Mama’s Southern Soul Food.
