“Stopping the sale of these books is just one part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure that Dr. Seuss’ catalog of companies represents and supports all communities and families, ”the organization said. .
Fox News spent much of the day ridiculing the “cancellation culture” even though the company made the decision on its own and most of the beloved author’s books will remain in circulation.
Progressive group Media Matters posted 85 mentions of Seuss on Fox News at 4 p.m.:
I count 85 mentions of “Seuss” on Fox News today starting at 4 p.m. with a closed headline. They have covered their alleged cancellation every hour since 4am, saying their name an average of 7 times an hour. https://t.co/lBUXE2WNGp

Just a normal day of watching the news. I’m sure this doesn’t hurt anything in my brain. Wow wow. I love receiving my news. pic.twitter.com/RgZOYZDd0u

And he didn’t stop there. Dr. Seuss also appeared overnight, as Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson devoted parts of their program to the subject.
Fox News critics on social media couldn’t get over the amount of time the network spent on the story and lamented all the news that didn’t have as much coverage as a result:
Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) faces another credible allegation of sexual harassment.
In DC, a rising Republican Party star faces a similar calculation, but Fox News prefers to ask him about … Dr. Seuss? pic.twitter.com/wPySdNYNTp

If they couldn’t talk about Dr Seuss and Mr Potato Head, what would they do @FoxNews talk about?
– Joe Walsh (@WalshFreedom) March 2, 2021
This is great news. Now we just need a massive information campaign so that white Republicans can win it and everyone can get our lives back on track. It’s a shame Fox News can’t help it, but they seem pretty overwhelmed reporting crucial stories about Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head. https://t.co/QQf5DOuzyu

I think Fox News should pay royalties for all the mileage they get from Dr. Seuss.

Fox News loses its shit in front of Dr. Seuss … like someone who watches or works for this network has never read a book … pic.twitter.com/Ke6D1R6649

Seriously, Fox News can’t be held in both ways on the urgent issue of headline inflation in the medical field.
Either Dr. Jill Biden and Seuss get the punch or America is not canceled and both are revered for their cultural contributions. Choose a lane. https://t.co/G9ukARbsEh

Oh, you didn’t think Tucker would skip Dr. Great War of Culture. Seuss tonight, right?
