After the traditional 10-second digital countdown on the illuminated façade of Burj Khalifa, the clock struck midnight and indicated that Downtown Dubai horizon to be filled with a ray of fireworks and colors for a record eight-minute, forty-three-second record. Those lucky enough to see the show received the longest consecutive fireworks display in the history of Burj Khalifa NYE shows, with a time of over five minutes. The show featured a total of 1,371 kg of fireworks, which were placed in a colossal 207 fire place.

The long-awaited event welcomed more than a million spectators to the center of Dubai, Emaar’s flagship mega-development, to witness 15,000 perfectly choreographed fireworks displaying 48 pyrotechnic patterns, marking the beginning of ‘a new decade. All the pyrotechnic effects were selected and made especially for the show, ensuring that the unique designs and effects of fireworks were truly unique.
Celebrations also included The Longest Dubai Fountain Show since the fountains were launched in 2009, adding another prestigious milestone to the water music show. The world-famous show took 160 hours in four weeks to perform a choreography and featured 113.5 kiloliters of water in the air at a time, released by an astonishing 1,137 water shooters and 6,612 lights.

Before the clock struck twelve, the animations of the Burj Khalifa transformed the tower into the traditional Oud instrument and sounded to the beat of an arabesque melody; from then on there was a beautiful set of blooming flowers, which bring more finesse and beauty to the show. Complementarily and highlighting the synergy between partners, flags of the CCG countries were displayed on the facade of the emblematic monument to celebrate the strong link between these nations.
Following an unprecedented demand, Emaar gave people around the world the unique opportunity to show off their New Year’s wishes on the LED façade of Burj Khalifa during the celebration of the Emaar NYE 2021. of social media from the “Burj Wishes” program reached tens of thousands of users, and participants posted their wish to the world on Emaar’s Twitter, Facebook or Instagram @EmaarDubai accounts via the hashtag # EmaarNYE2020.
