Carnival Miracle in Tampa

Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said in a video message to travel agencies that the brand has no plans to move its ships from its U.S. ports of origin.

“I’ve always said that Carnival Cruise Line is America’s cruise line,” he said.

“We sail from 14 ports of American origin, 50 percent of our itineraries are less than seven days of sailing and a significant number of our guests travel to their Carnival cruise vacation. We also sail with more families with children than any other cruise line. And, as you know, vaccines are not approved for children under 16 years of age.

Vaccines

Duffy said that as more Americans are vaccinated, their focus is on getting a decision (from the CDC) to allow resumption of cruises from U.S. ports of origin, according to others. forms of travel that return to summer.

He noted that he is optimistic that travel will resume in time for the summer.

“Whether it’s safe to fly a plane, stay in a hotel or resort, or visit an amusement park, it should be safe to take a cruise on a boat with the additional safety and health protocols we have in place.”

No June cruise decision

“We haven’t made any decisions here at Carnival about our June crossings,” Duffy added.

Duffy noted that anyone booked on a June cruise can be canceled without penalty and that the final payment deadline for all June Carnival Cruise Line cruises has been moved to April 30th.
