These are the 26 villages where beaches and spas will be closed to the Municipal Executive Order

The Association of Mayors announced today that the first 41 associate executives will implement a uniform Executive Order with more restrictions for COVID-19 in the face of dissatisfaction with what was announced yesterday by Governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia.

In this Executive Order that will be applied to the municipalities with popular mayors, they establish the closing of beaches, spas, keys and islets.

This ordinance will apply to the following 26 municipalities:

Mayagüez, Racó, Aguada, Aguadilla, Isabela, Quebradillas, Hatillo, Arecibo, Barceloneta, Baix Segura, Daurat, Toa Baixa, Carolina, Loíza, Riu Gran, Luquillo, Naguabo, Yabucoa, Guayama, Arroyo, Salines, Santa Isabel, Juana Díaz , Ponce, Peñuelas and Guánica.

The Executive Order established by the municipalities will enter into force today, Friday, and will be in effect until April 30.

Other provisions that apply to all 41 municipalities are:

  • Municipal employees and government offices must move to virtual mode in those non-essential tasks. Those who are not essential, and who cannot work remotely, will proceed with the enjoyment of the accumulation of compensatory time, as a first instance, or accumulated vacation leave.
  • Retail stores and malls must promote collection and delivery systems.
  • They will not give exemptions or permits for any kind of social activity.
  • Cancellation of all municipal activity and the use of public and communal spaces, which tend to crowd people, including festivals, carnivals, tournaments, retreats, among others.

On the other hand, the curfew decreed by the governor continues to stand in all municipalities alongside the other provisions.
