These foods that you include in your diet are fattening and aging

Many of the ‘healthy’ foods we consume daily, thinking we make the best choices for our food add extra pounds, They make us fat and also accelerate aging. So before you pick them again, think twice if what you want is to maintain optimal body weight and gain in health.

Let’s take, as an example, the classic Orange juice. We take it for breakfast thinking it’s the best way to start the day. And if someone tells us that we are having a can of soda, we look at this confused person thinking he is totally confused. But it is not. And any nutritionist will insist on taking the whole fruit, to avoid sugar free from orange juice. One more mistake. Breakfast cereals. They put the batteries on us and take care of our weight. Or so they tell us. Nor is it entirely true, as it is usually about foods high in sugar, they lose some of the nutritional properties that unmanipulated cereals would have. To be clearer about what foods we should choose if we want to eat healthier, and what we should be aware of, we spoke with Nutritienda nutritionists Andrea Báguena and Andrea Hernan Gómez. They will help us improve our diet. We continue with one of the biggest mistakes in our diet: ‘light’ foods that help keep us from gaining weight.

Eye with ‘light’ products

We need to keep in mind that there are processed foods that we take in on a daily basis thinking they are healthy because they are sold to us under confusing words like “light” or “low in calories.” These foods, which we sometimes consume without discrimination, can be a problem and an increase in obesity if we have the misconception that “as it is light, it loses weight”.

A light product means that it has been reduced by at least 30% of the caloric content of the original product, but does that mean it is low in calories? Is a light industrial pasta healthy? Does this open the ban for abusive or continuous consumption? We must always choose natural foods: making a gingerbread at home will always be better as we will control its ingredients and quantities. Plus, learning how to read food labeling will make our choices better! Consuming light products abusively, therefore, will increase the calories in our diet almost without us realizing it.
