TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras.- The totality of the drug found on Friday in a tanker truck, which was allegedly guarded by the mayor of Roatan, arrived this Saturday afternoon at the Hernán Acosta Mejía Air Base in Tegucigalpa, Capital city of Honduras.
Hours earlier, a Honduran Air Force plane landed in the same spot with Roatan’s councilor, Jerry Dave Hynds Julio and 3 more people, identified as Efraín Rigoberto Sants Córdova, Francisco Federico Henríquez Gómez i Jorge Reiniery Rosales Bustillo, All of them arrested as part of an action where they confiscated 98 bundles of the alleged drug.
After the arrival of the drug in the capital, authorities of the Public Ministry (MP) have detailed that it is 2,430 kilos of cocaine, that is to say, a little more than it had been calculated initially.
“Of the 98 packages confiscated there is an average of 25 kilos of the alleged drug in each bag and at least 11 different marks were detected on the packaging of the packages,” the MP statement details.
The authorities also explained that in order to carry out the transfer of all the evidence, four flights were made, as their weight exceeded that suitable for aircraft.

The prosecution reported that it will charge the mayor along with the other people, drug trafficking, so that if a judge finds them guilty, they could spend 15 years in prison.
