Washington, USA
A former adviser to the New York state governor and who has now run as president of the Manhattan district accused of sexual harassment in a series of tweets on Sunday, claiming he made inappropriate comments about her appearance.
Lindsey Boylan tweeted that Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, “sexually harassed me for years and many people witnessed it.”
Boylan, 36, worked for the Cuomo administration from March 2015 to October 2018, first as executive vice president of Empire State Development, and then as an adviser on economic development issues.
“I never knew what to expect: comments on my work (which was excellent) or on my appearance. Are both things at the same time? That’s the way it was for years, “Boylan wrote.
He did not give details of the alleged facts, and did not immediately respond to messages from the PA. Then he tweeted: “I want it to be clear: I don’t want to talk to journalists. What matters to me is to reflect the experiences of countless women and stop the abuse. “
Cuomo’s spokesmen also did not respond to messages asking for their reaction.
The allegations against Cuomo come shortly after the AP and other media reported that he is being considered as secretary of justice by President-elect Joe Biden.
Boylan counted in the 2020 primaries against Jerrold Nadler for the seat in the House of Representatives and got 22% of the vote. Last month he announced he would run in the 2021 primaries to replace current Manhattan District President Gale Brewer.
