The Cuban actor Jorge Losada he needs medication to counteract a “major anemia” that was detected in him, art director Luis Lacosta Alverich warned.
“He came out of the operation very well, he is facing problems, he has been diagnosed with severe anemia despite eating daily, it seems that his body has a problem and he has been sent to take Inferón and Trofin or another medicine so get out of anemia, ”Lacosta Alverich wrote on her Facebook wall.
Immediately several people reacted to the publication, showing solidarity with the actor and proposing ideas for the drugs to arrive promptly.
“In the airport waiting room there are shelves full of Trofin, a nationally produced liquid with high blood compatibility iron supplement. There is Trofin, but intended for those with dollars,” wrote Manuel Iglesias Pérez.
Others offered to give him the medicine voluntarily, such as Suyen Tartabull Valdés, a resident of Guanabacoa, who has a jar of Trofin at home.
In recent years in Cuba there is a shortage of medicines, which the authorities justify with the difficult access of raw materials in the international market, the economic sanctions imposed by the United States Government and the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic. .
In the face of this the official press promotes the use of natural and traditional medicine as an alternative to the absence of drugs.
Oral antibiotics, painkillers, anti-inflammatory, antihistamines and anxiolytics are the rarest at this time across the country.
In the face of the national deficit, Cubans have to pay more for drugs sold in the informal market or buy them in dollars at international pharmacies, at prices that are inaccessible to many citizens.
