They capture a Guatemalan requested for extradition by the USA

Guatemala City

Guatemalan police on Friday arrested a person whose extradition claims the United States for a murder, reported the institution’s spokesman, Edwin Monroy.

The detainee, identified as Saul David Moro Ramirez, 37, was captured by agents of the Transnational Anti-Gang Center (CAT) in the northeastern city of Morales.

Moro Ramirez “is wanted by U.S. authorities for a crime he allegedly committed in California in 2009,” he added.

The arrest warrant was issued Feb. 25, according to Monroy.

MONTH: Arrested for fraud against the state cousin of President of Guatemala.

The detainee will be transferred to Guatemala City, where a court will decide whether to extradite him, he added.

“In 2009 he was syndicated by U.S. authorities for having been involved in the death of a man in the state of California” when he resided at the site, he detailed.

He said the arrest was in coordination between US and Guatemalan authorities.
