The defendants are part of a criminal gang that operated in northern Bogota drugging its victims to carry out millionaire walks and, later, to leave them in pastures of the city.

The U.S. government was alerted after two senior U.S. Embassy officials in Bogota reported being victims of the gang.

Indeed, in March 2020, diplomats arrived at a bar north of the capital for a few sips. There they were approached by two women, who took advantage of a carelessness of the men to mix a substance in their drinks.

What has been established is that the criminals kidnapped the Embassy officials on the grounds that they were under the influence of the drug they provided them at the bar.

Thus, they stripped them of their belongings and emptied their bank accounts. In the morning they were abandoned.

In the face of what has happened, a court in the United States ordered an investigation to find those responsible, Because although this is a crime committed in Colombia, the nationality of one of the victims is American, and both are officials of the Embassy of that country.

The three named will have to answer to American justice for various charges, including kidnapping.

First of all, the Colombian Public Prosecutor’s Office linked Arango and Uribe in the investigation into the death of Alexandra Anaya, Sister of a former prosecutor and who was intoxicated in a case of a millionaire walk similar to that of American diplomats.

However, Anaya died from the high dose she received of the drug given to her by the criminals.
