They dismiss Tito Rojas in town vigil stage

Music figures, such as Luisito Ayala, Víctor Manuelle, L’Índia, Norberto Vélez, Oscarito Serrano, Nino Segarra, Pichie Pérez, Big Boy, Willie González, Giro, José Ernesto Parra, Edwin Rivera, David Pabón, Àngel Pérez (” Papito el Bell “), Poldo Castro, Maelo Ruiz, Charlie Cruz and Pedro Arroyo, paid their respects today to the singer Tito Rojas during his vigil at the Coliseo Marcelo Trujillo Panisse, in Humacao.

Fans of the “Salsero Rooster” received the coffin singing and dancing to their hits.

Luisito Ayala, who shared with Rojas in the Port Rican Power Orchestra, told Walo Radio Oriental 1240 AM that he was going through a “bitter and very sad sip” for his colleague’s departure.

He stressed that “we have lost one of the glories of the sauce of the whole world. He left us a great legacy”, emphasizing, in addition, that there will be music by Tito Rojas, “for a good time, for life” .

Rojas’ former manager for 20 years, Roberto Cruz, noted as he was “in pain, but grateful to the people. This has been immense.”

He stressed that Rojas was “too humble” and unaware of his international fame.

He thinks he remembers that the salsa player always greeted men with a kiss and hug.

“Tito traveled and brought the name of this town to the world. Always with his pride of being humacaeño and, most importantly, of Mariana,” he insisted.

He mentioned that his excap was the performer who first sang salsa in Israel, as well as visited Africa and Europe.

Singer Ismael Miranda offered his condolences to the Rojas Escobar family at the Toñito Flors funeral home in the municipality.

The funeral procession will leave on Wednesday, to the sound of the music of “Gall Salsero”, from the funeral home -from 10:00 in the morning- to the Pax Christi cemetery in the eastern city.

Tito Rojas died on Saturday morning after leaving a family party and stopping at a cousin’s house when he was in poor health, where he collapsed and was unable to get to the hospital.
