A man was jailed yesterday, Saturday afternoon, after a case was found against him for violation of Law 54 (art. 3.2 aggravated assault) and violation of the Weapons Law (art. 6.06 carrying and use of knives) for an incident that occurred Friday at a residence in the Trencada Arenas neighborhood in Toa Alta, police said.
The person was identified as Víctor Rodríguez Lozada, 43, a resident of Toa Alta.
According to the preliminary investigation, a woman was assaulted in the head area and was left in a delicate condition.
She was initially treated at the Toa Alta Diagnosis and Treatment Center and later referred to the Pedres River Medical Center.
Agent Daysi Silva consulted the case with prosecutor Ginny Andreu, of the Domestic Violence Unit, who ordered the filing of charges against Rodríguez Lozada in the Bayamón Court.
Judge Manuel Méndez found cause in the crimes and set an overall bail of $ 30,000, which Rodriguez Lozada did not lend, being admitted to the Bayamón Correctional Complex.
