They increase to 64 the municipalities with high transmission of COVID-19

the Department of Health issued this afternoon the weekly report on community transmission of COVID-19 in Puerto Rico, where it revealed that 64 municipalities on the Island are at a high level of transmission of COVID-19.

This figure marks an increase of 26 villages compared to those reported last week.

The municipalities in red level of contagions are: Aguadilla, Aigües Bones, Aibonito, Arecibo, Arroyo, Barranquitas, Bayamón, Cap Roig, Caguas, Camuy, Canóvanas, Carolina, Cataño, Cayey, Ceiba, Ciales, Cidra, Comerío, Corozal, Culebra, Florida, Guayanilla, Guaynabo, Gurabo, Guánica, Hatillo, Formiguers, Humacao, Isabela, Jayuya, Juana Díaz, Joncs, Lajas, Lares, Les Marías, Les Pedres, Loíza, Luquillo, Maricao, Maunabo, Mayagüez, Moca, Morovis, Naguabo, Naranjito, Orocovis , Patilles, Quebradillas, Racó, Rio Grande, Sabana Gran, Salines, San Juan, San Lorenzo, San Sebastián, Santa Isabel, Toa Alta, Toa Baixa, Trujillo Alto, Utuado, Vega Alta, Baix Segura, Villalba and Yauco.

None of the schools on the island can teach classes in person, As ordered by Health last week. The return to virtual classes of the schools took effect last Monday, April 12, and would continue for two weeks.

On the other hand, there is 12 municipalities with substantial transmission. These are: Adjuntes, Aguada, Añasco, Barceloneta, Dorado, Fajardo, Guayama, Manatí, Peñuelas, Ponce, San Germa’n and Yabucoa.

Of the remaining peoples, Coamo is in moderate transmission level i Old at low transmission level.

There are currently 181.01 active cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 inhabitants in Puerto Rico, according to the Health report.

The positivity rate continues to rise and stands at 15.75% today, on a day when the agency reported an additional 827 confirmed cases of COVID and 265 probable.

The deaths reported today were an additional 12, putting Puerto Rico with a cumulative total of 2,174 virus deaths.
