The Irache Consumers Association and the College of Psychology of Navarre have launched a campaign, with the publication of leaflets and the organization of various talks, to promote the emotional well-being of the population in Navarre in the face of the effects on mental health arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Irache explained that, according to a survey he commissioned, “10% of citizens consider the situation of the mental health of Navarrese consumers, A concern that, incidentally, increases by up to 21% among young people. ” In the summer we learned that the Mental Health Network of Navarre has treated in the first half of this year a total of 2,783 patients under 30 years in first consultation, 20.4% more than in the same period of 2019 “, he added.
In this context, the College of Psychology of Navarre contacted Irache to address different issues and in these conversations the two parties detected “a concern shared by the wear and tear on the emotional well-being of the population“And they agreed on ‘the need to collaborate and work together on this issue.’
So, they have edited 57,000 leaflets which will be distributed free of charge with guidelines for caring for emotional well-being, situations to pay attention to, or guidelines for seeking help.
In this same line, they will be performed 08:00 talks in Pamplona and so many others in different Navarrese localities in which professionals of psychology experts in mental health approached this question to the citizenship.
With this project, Irache and the College of Psychology seek “bring the concept of mental health closer to the public and normalize it; offer simple guidelines that help maintain the emotional well-being of citizens; help detect when outside help from professionals is needed; and providing the means and access to access this assistance. “
Both entities have stressed that this project “can help older people who have been able to live with more distress and sometimes in solitude this time of pandemic; to young people who have seen their possibilities for vital development limited; to any person who has seen with anguish the suffering or death of relatives or loved ones, or any citizen. “
