Given the significant increase in VOCID-19 cases in Puerto Rico, the expert recommendation seems to reach a consensus that vaccination needs to be accelerated on the Island.

In the case of the former surgeon general of the United States, Antonia Coello de Novello, said in an interview with Telenotícies that Puerto Rico will not have herd immunity until the vaccines are massive.

For the doctor, massive vaccination efforts like the one made last week at the Convention Center must be made, every day.

Coello de Novello pointed out that every day should be vaccinated until 11 pm, and that after 3 pm the vaccine should be offered without an appointment.

“He who works needs peace of mind that when he needs a vaccine, he finds it,” he said.

The doctor abounded that enough vaccines are coming to the island to hold these mass events, and that “everything is going to be done well” before the first storm arrives.

So, he said, by the time the hurricane season begins, there is a possibility that shipments of vaccines to the island will be delayed.
