They remove Pablo Anliker as Minister of Agriculture

The change of official is confirmed in a few days by the United States announcing the list of officials whose visa should be revoked to be related to corruption cases.

Pau Anliker was removed this Wednesday as Minister of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) and although the announcement of a new official had not yet been made officially by the Press Secretariat of the Presidency, the former official withdrew his post from his main Twitter account.

It was not until Wednesday night that President Nayib Bukele confirmed Anliker’s replacement, without detailing the reasons.

In his place has been appointed as Minister David Josué Martínez, who is only known to be an economist and who worked in the Secretariat of Trade and Investment of Bukele government.

The change happens a few days after the list of corrupt Central Americans, among whom several Salvadoran officials are said to have been appointed.

The main findings of the audit of the Court of Auditors in the Ministry of Agriculture

Anliker was at the helm of the institution which is currently being investigated by both the Attorney General’s Office and the Court of Auditors for irregularities in the purchasing process for the Health Emergency Program (PES) which delivers food packages to the population as part of the pandemic by Covid-19.

Among the main irregularities found in the audit carried out to date by the Court of Auditors are the purchase of overpriced cornmeal, the purchase of food products without health records and no consumption records of foreign companies in the who bought them the tickets.
