The publication of Resolution 1 of March 3, 2021, which “establishes temporarily and until the state of National Emergency is lifted, the minimum score for approval by the basic medical certification exam “, has not gone down well and is in a hurry to generate a new controversy.

According to the resolution, which was published in the Official Gazette of Friday, March 5, it is established that the minimum passing score for the basic medical certification exam at 360, which corresponds to the equated percentage of 34.5%.

In the second article, he says the percentage will be reconsidered by the Inter-Agency Council for Basic Certification in Medicine, once the State of Emergency is lifted.

In 2019, by a resolution it was established that as of May of this year the equivalent pass score of the basic medical certification exam was 405, equivalent to the equivalent percentage of 42.00%.

Then in another resolution, No. 3 of June 12, 2020, it was established that the equivalent pass rate for the basic certification examination in medicine is 41.5%.

On Twitter, there have already been reactions. Jorge Sinclair (@ Jorgesinclair05), wrote that, “ if it were a school where it is graded on the basis of 5, the passing grade would be 1.7. Yes, one with seven”.

For his part, the doctor Julio Sandoval (@DrJulioSandoval), also reacted and wrote that: “ lowering the medical certification exam passing score is an attack on people’s health. Who did you think of? It looks like it’s made to measure for someone. Please reconsider!”.
