This is how Rafael Amaya looked in 2000, when he debuted as a soap opera actor in La casa a la platja

Rafael Amaya achieved international fame as the protagonist of “The lord of heaven“, Series where he gave life for seven seasons to Aurelio Casillas. His masterful performance made him one of the favorite actors of the public and made him deserving of an important place in the artistic environment, to the point that consolidate as one of the most sought after male performers in Latin America and the United States.

After being missing from the public scene for several months, Rafael Amaya reappeared in December to explain the reason for his long absence: he had been admitted to a rehabilitation clinic to treat his drug and alcohol addiction.

In conversation with the magazine People in Spanish, Amaya to reveal that by his vices he moved away of his family and friends. He even left Mexico to take refuge for seasons in Europe, Central America and South America, where his loneliness only increased until he received the help he needed to get his life back.

Now, after leaving rehab, Amaya wants to resume his projects on television and venture – perhaps – into other fields of the artistic medium as if starting from zero to 43 years, as if it were once again the Rafael Amaya of “The house on the beach”.

“The house on the beach” is a Mexican soap opera of the year 2000, produced by Pinkye Morris and Yuri Breña by Televisa. It starred Cynthia Klitbo and Sergio Goyri, with the antagonistic roles of Blanca Guerra and first actor José Carlos Ruiz. It also featured star performances by Mariana Levy, Sebastià Ligarde, Mario Cimarro, David Ostrosky, Yadhira Carrillo and the first actors Ignacio López Tars and Marga López.

Rafael Amaya made his debut in this fiction, where he played Romualdo Reis. Since then, the actor began to gain roles in other productions such as ‘Cástulo’, “Love Again”, “The Two Faces of Ana”, among other soap operas.

From a very young age, Amaya he showed talent and charisma in front of the cameras which allowed him to break through in the world of acting.
